Eater Boston reported today that Lamplighter Brewing Co. – a brewery and taproom that’s been looking for a Cambridge location since May of last year – hopes to open its doors by the end of 2015. There aren’t a ton of details about the new space at the moment, but the brewery’s landing page promises that they’re coming to the city by this fall.
“Turns out Cambridge real estate is a rather elusive beast, but we’ve got a location in our sights, and have a feeling this one isn’t going to slip from our grasp,” the brewers said in a blog post yesterday. “It’s been an arduous process, but we’re still optimistic that Lamplighter will materialize in Cambridge sometime before 2016.” The Lamplighter team goes on to describe a recent trip to Portland, OR, “a mecca of craft beer and hipsters” that’s home to more breweries than any other city worldwide.
We’re keeping our fingers crossed that this is, in fact, the year that this new microbrewery makes an appearance in Cambridge. In the meantime, you can get updates on Lamplighter’s Twitter, Facebook and Instagram profiles. (You’ll definitely want to follow that Instagram – sometimes they post pictures of an adorably fluffy cat named Gatsby.)
