“With everybody cooking at home it is certainly an opportunity for us,” says Randall Friedus, Executive Director of Operations for the Cambridge School for Culinary Arts. Friedus seems hopeful, if frazzled. Like much of the restaurant industry, the school has furloughed most of its staff and, like much of the education world, is trying to navigate the new world of online teaching.

“As people get into cooking they want to learn more,” Friedus explains. “And that gives us a little bit of hope. It may take a while but we’re hoping that we could see even more interest in cooking from all this.”
