1. Cambridge Common’s New Year’s Eve

If you’re looking for New Year’s fun without breaking the bank, Cambridge Common has you covered. The night starts off with free beer tastings at 6 p.m. (Allagash Pictavia Scotch Ale from 6 to 8 p.m., New Belgium Oakspire Bourbon Barrel Ale from 8 to 10 p.m., and Firestone Walker Peachy Bones Wild Saison from 10 to 11 p.m.). You can vote for your favorite cocktail in a bartender showdown, and at 7, 9, and 11 p.m. you’ll have the chance to win brewery “swag” in raffles. Plus, you’ll get a free champagne toast at midnight.

2. Prix Fixe Dinner at Forage

3. New Year’s Eve Ball at the Hall

Beat Brew Hall’s your place for a dance party with plenty of confetti. VIP tickets include a buffet of hors d’oeuvres and desserts (9 to 11:30 p.m.), and both ticket levels include a champagne toast.

4. PAGU New Year’s Eve Tasting & New Year’s Eve Bash

PAGU has not one, but two New Year’s events for you to choose from. For a sit-down dinner, opt for the chef tasting, and you’ll get five courses “with a strong focus on seafood.” If you’re looking to be there when the ball drops, the New Year’s Eve bash offers a buffet (which will include dishes like suckling pig, giant paella, chicken nugz bao, and wagyu brisket nachos), picture-worthy cocktails, raffles, and games. Your ticket will include the buffet, one specialty cocktail, and a champagne toast.

5. Boston Salsa & Bachata New Year’s Gala

Go dancing into the new year at this annual gala. Your ticket will get you a salsa/bachata lesson, hors d’oeuvres, and champagne at midnight, plus promises of several surprises. The lesson starts at 9 p.m., and social dancing at 10 p.m.

6. ’80s New Year’s Eve Prom at Lamplighter Brewing Co.

“Prom attire encouraged, big hair required.” Your ticket to this prom party includes two full pours of beer, snacks courtesy of Brato Kitchen, a “champagne-inspired Brut IPA” at midnight, and party favors including prom photos.
