Ahh … Love is in the air this weekend as people around the world celebrate Valentine’s Day. Whether you’re planning on spending the holiday with the one you’re head-over-heels for, celebrating Single Awareness Day or just enjoying a nice Saturday with your family, we have the best events around town to celebrate the day in grand style.
Couples! Valentine’s Day Feast of Love at Out of the Blue Too Gallery & More (541 Mass Ave): If a romantic dinner for two sounds boring, then head over to Out of the Blue Too Gallery & More for a whirlwind night filled with multiple attractions. The night is hosted by Cambridge based Shakespearean acting ensemble, It’s A Fiasco. First on the docket is a silent auction fundraiser featuring gift certificates, jewelry and more. Later in the night, the actors will perform Shakespearean love scenes and sonnets. The evening will end with live musical performances from local artists and musicians. The whole thing is accompanied by appetizers, snacks and a cash bar featuring Pretty Things Beer and Downeast Cider. The silent auction starts at 6:30 p.m. and tickets are just $25.
Singles! THORNS Roasts Valentine’s Day at ImprovBoston (40 Prospect St): Celebrate your “singleness” by attending this annual comedy show that puts on display the hilarity of heartbreak and the humor to be found in falling in love. The laughs start at 10 p.m. and tickets are $18. “Happy couples” are welcome, although you may want to show up separately…
Family! 20th Annual Bugs Bunny Festival at Brattle Theatre (40 Brattle St): Undying love doesn’t have much to do with cartoons, but we certainly have long lasting admiration for Elmer Fudd’s never-stop attitude. Bring the whole family down to Brattle Theatre and delight in the antics of everyone’s favorite wabbit. The first showing of All Bugs Revue starts at 12 p.m. and tickets range from $7-9. If you can’t round up the clan for the early show, catch the second one at 2 p.m. and you’ll all be chuckling for the rest of the day!
