Have your plans for tonight locked down, but nowhere to go come the early bright sunshine of tomorrow? After perhaps imbibing a little too much during the countdown to midnight, the last thing you’ll want to do is get out of bed the next morning. But its a New Year! And New Year’s Day deserves to be celebrated in the same fashion as the night before. Except maybe with the addition of sunglasses to your outfit and the trade out of your beer for a bloody mary.

So rise and shine! We’ve scouted out all the great places around Cambridge to grab your first meal of 2015. Conquer the first day of the new year by conquering brunch. Cheers and happy 2015!

West Bridge Annual DRUNCH (1 Kendall Sq): Quite possibly the only place to be on New Year’s Day if you want to keep the party going from the night before. Starting at 12pm, DJ LeahV will be spinning tracks till 4pm, while West Bridge serves up some of the tastiest hangover treats Chef Matthew has envisioned. Reservations are required and they only have a few spots left, so act fast and make sure to bring your sunglasses and partyface.

Puritan & Co. (1166 Cambridge St): For a slightly more upscale New Year’s Day brunch, head over to Puritan & Company. Brunch runs from 10:30am to 2pm. Enjoy the Sunday brunch items you’ve come to know and love like the duck and green onion hash, broccolini and cheddar scramble, while sipping on their mexican sunrise or a bloody mary spiced to perfection.

Henrietta’s Table (1 Bennett St): Located in the beautiful Charles Hotel, this Harvard Square staple has always brought us fresh, local and honest cuisine. This New Year’s Day brunch promises not to disappoint! Henrietta’s Table will be offering a three-course menu for $35 a person. Normal brunch hours.

Craigie on Main Lucky Brunch (853 Main St): The beat goes on with the annual Craigie on Main Lucky Brunch. Enjoy a three-course meal consisting of coriander and cashew granola, house-made cotechino and eggs, chicken-fried pork belly and more. Brunch starts at 10:30am and runs $50 per person, but one random lucky table kickstarts their New Year and gets their meal free. Reservations are strongly recommended.

ArtBar Hangover Brunch (40 Edward Land Blvd): Starting at 11am, ArtBar is holding it’s annual Hangover Brunch. Menu items include eggs benedict, french toast cinnamon-challah, crispy oysters and loaded tots. The combination of exquisite food, world-renowned art and their inaugural bloody mary bar is sure to suppress that headache and begin 2015 in style.

Club Passim (47 Palmer St): If brunch isn’t really your style and you prefer to stay in bed the whole day, check out Grace Pettis at Club Passim at 8pm. Pettis is celebrating the release of her second album with music framed by pop rock, folk, country and blues. Tickets are $13-$15 and all ages are welcome.
